Dr Nikita Shanley joined Buderim Medical Centre in 2025. Nikita completed a Bachelor of Science in 2008 and then a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at UQ graduating in 2011. Nikita completed her junior doctor training at Nambour General Hospital rotating through most areas of medicine and surgery before settling on completing a Diploma of Anaesthetics also at Nambour Hospital.
Nikita and her family then moved to Roma in rural South West Queensland to complete registrar training and Nikita was awarded her fellowship in Rural Generalist Medicine with an advanced skill in Anaesthetics with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine in 2018.
Nikita has spent the past 9 years in Roma where she was most recently the Director of Medical Services managing the Roma Hospital medical team and working as a Rural Generalist Anaesthetist. Nikita has a keen interest in critical care, anaesthetics and general medicine. She is looking forward to working across all areas of general practice.
In her time off, Nikita enjoys spending time at home and in the garden and with her young family.
