Originally from Hong Kong, Simon has been in Australia since 1989, having qualified at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. He moved his practice to Buderim from Beerwah in 2001 and has enjoyed being been part of the community ever since. He is interested in all aspects of General Practice from birth to end-of-life. He is a fanatical kiteboarder and has occasionally been caught sneaking off to the beach in his lunch break.

Dr Penny Jeaffreson

Penny has been a GP consulting in Buderim since 1994. She qualified from the University of Queensland and, after a period in Nambour, Kingaroy and the Gold Coast, has been well established in the Sunshine Coast medical community since then, balancing this with the care of two sons. Her interests include women’s health and paediatrics. She is a keen surfer and you may run into her at the beach most mornings.

Dr Jess Geniola

Jess moved to Buderim in 2012 from Cairns, where he had been in practice for 7 years. Prior to this he was a solo GP in rural Tasmania for many years. He has developed a wide range of medical skills and interests, and is a valuable member of Buderim Medical Centre.

Dr. Vanessa Nuske completed a degree in biomedical science at the University of Queensland then went on to study medicine at Flinders University of South Australia, graduating in 2006.  She then travelled whilst completing her General Practice training, working in Brisbane, Darwin, and Goondiwindi, before returning to the Sunshine Coast, where she has worked as a GP in Caloundra for 8 years. She enjoys the variety of General Practice and has gained experience in a broad range of areas, including obstetrics/gynaecology, paediatrics, rural health, preventative health and aged care. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, bush walking, reading, and going to the beach.

Dr. Cameron Knapp is a dedicated and compassionate doctor with a passion for general practice. He strongly believes that building a robust, long-term professional relationship with a hard-working GP is crucial for achieving better health outcomes. Dr. Knapp graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 and obtained his RACGP fellowship in 2016. He has worked in various locations across Queensland, including Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Brisbane, and the Sunshine Coast. He returned to live permanently at the Sunshine Coast in 2023. Dr Knapp enjoys all aspect of General Practice, but particularly enjoys the management of complex chronic disease.

Aside from his work consulting from Buderim Medical Centre, Dr. Knapp enjoys swimming, gardening, and spending quality time with his wife and their young daughter.

Lauren is currently a GP who commenced working at Buderim Medical Centre in 2022. Lauren moved to the Sunshine Coast from Zimbabwe, and completed Bachelor of Biomedical Science at University of the Sunshine Coast in 2013 before studying Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. She returned to the Sunshine Coast upon graduation and has worked throughout the Sunshine Coast hospital service before settling into General Practice.

When not at work she enjoys travelling and going to the beach with her husband and dog.

Lauren enjoys all areas of General Practice with particular interest in preventive and cardiovascular health, as well as women’s health.

Paul commenced with Buderim Medical centre in 2024 and is accepting new patients. Paul has worked as a GP for 10 years now, all over QLD and has now settled on the Coast with his wife and family. Graduated University Newcastle 2011, Diploma Children’s Health 2014, GP specialty fellowship 2016.

General Practice is the foundation of health care in Australia and Paul believes a strong relationship with your local GP provides the best outcomes in the community’s health. Paul can provide comprehensive care in all aspects of general practice with particular expertise in Men’s Health, Children’s Health and skin cancer.

Kate joined the team in 2023 as a GP Registrar in her final year of fellowship training. A graduate from Griffith University, she obtained a Doctor of Medicine in 2017. Kate has a keen interest in the health of a woman across her lifespan (particularly sexual health, menstrual dysfunction, antenatal and menopausal care) and completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2021 at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. She also has an interest in preventative healthcare and is keen to expand her practice as an enthusiastic, patient centred family doctor to General Practice. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoor lifestyle that the Sunshine Coast offers with her husband and young son.
